Committed

“Dr. Tiffany M. Nyachae’s deep love for and commitment to communities of Color are undeniable; her presence alone can re-inspire the joys and possibilities of being in education! She has the dynamic ability to engage participants with hard truths while moving them to demand the education that our young people deserve now. As a facilitator of teacher learning, she is especially skillful with interweaving critical theory, storytelling, and action – expanding our visions for possible futures while grounding them in the history, in the strengths, in the voices, and in the aspirations of the community.”

Dr. Josephine Pham, Assistant Professor at California State University, Fullerton

“Dr. Tiffany Nyachae is a both a prolific scholar and warm and engaging presenter. She has provided innovative, interactive professional development for our English education program at Buffalo State College and for the Western New York Network of English Teachers (WNYNET). Her popular workshops and talks have engaged teacher candidates and in-service teachers in critical reflection on social justice, the design of a humanizing curriculum, development of authentic dialogue that honors diverse perspectives, and the use of technological tools across academic spaces. Dr. Nyachae’s passion is infectious, and she empowers participants to think critically about their teaching practices to better serve students. Committed to community-centered work, Dr. Nyachae inspires us all to stand in solidarity with teachers, students, and families as we collectively transform educational practices. Energetic

“Our middle school team had the wonderful pleasure of working with Dr. Tiffany Nyachae during the 2018-2019 school year. The energetic and thought-provoking professional development facilitated provided an in-depth and intimate crosswalk through the curriculum, highlighting opportunities to infuse culturally relevant themes and resources into our daily lessons and monthly units. Teachers were afforded engaging, one-on-one experiences with Dr. Nyachae to eliminate the anxiety and stress that often accompanies such soul searching and cognitive engagement. Teachers examined their own biases and thinking to embrace the new shift. Our teachers and students benefited from this initiative. I highly recommend Dr. Nyachae for your next professional development.”

– Tanika Allen, Principal of BUILD Academy, Buffalo Public Schools

Authentic

“I have been lucky enough to work with Dr. Tiffany Nyachae as an educator, a member of her educational cohort, a community activist, and as a parent. Her dynamic personal approach to educating others—children through adults—has inspired me time and again. Tiffany builds close connections with others through sheer force of personality, authentic and deep love for fellow learners, and a critical lens that both invites people in and insists they think from a variety of perspectives. Truthfully, Tiffany’s work with young people in a social justice book club at our local library spurred my questions about adolescents, literacy, and civic engagement into an eventual dissertation. She has enriched my life and expanded my world!”

– Dr. Kate Haq, Literacy Specialist at The Park School of Buffalo

Creative

“Dr. Nyachae served as a member of my leadership team for the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals as the chapter’s Education Chair. Her ingenuity, creativity, and passion for education led her to create some of the most impactful programming in our chapter’s short history. This included the Summer Social Justice Literacy Workshop Series and the chapter’s Education Mini-Conference, which would later be adopted by our parent organization, the Buffalo Urban League, as one of their key signature programs. When I served as president of the chapter, I would often encourage members of my team to think about the legacy they wanted to leave in their respective roles. I think it’s very safe to say that Dr. Nyachae’s legacy will be felt within this organization for years to come. I am not only proud to call her a colleague, but also a friend and a sister!”

– Jamil Crews, Eastern Regional Vice President of the National Urban League Young Professionals

Phenomenal

“I highly recommend and have been amazed by Dr. Nyachae! She is phenomenal at promoting empowering educational spaces where the students experience joy while learning. Dr. Nyachae is a dynamic scholar and educator who is able to bring together students and educators around social justice issues and make connections to science. As a science educator, I was amazed at the diversity of approaches her literacy background offered in terms of teaching and student learning. Literacy is so important to assist us in fostering well-rounded, environmentally aware, and civically engaged student populations.”
